Wildwood, Cape May County

Nice summer vacation spot

My relatives own a house in Wildwood Crest, and I’ve spent some time there during almost every summer of my life. You can lay around at the BEAUTIFUL free public beach all day, rent some bicycle-carts in which to explore the area, browse the shops of the boardwalk, spend a day at the amusement/water parks (the ferris wheel and the “Great White” rollercoaster are must-sees), take a sight-seeing ferry ride, dine at the many family-owned restaurants, or just kick back and enjoy the fresh shore air. It’s a shame that many of the old houses are being replaced with condos, though…this kind of detracts from the atmosphere, in my opinion.

Howe Caverns, Howes Cave

A great family outing

I visited Howe Caverns a few years ago, and it was quite an enjoyable experience. You can take a walking/boat tour, during which your guide will point out some of the interesting geological features. It’s not the most adventuresome experience (there are handrails, lamps, and electrical outlets clearly visible on the main path), but it’s a safe place to bring the kids.
