This memorial is just haunting, with the soldiers coming out of the trees and reflected on the walls

Beautiful area

Surprisingly large for the end of the world – but it looks like most residents didn’t come to stay. The town is ill-kept but friendly and fun. Try the Irish bar on the main drag on Friday nights in the summer when the cruise ships return from the Antarctic and the crew members get a night off.

Spent a couple of nights on our way to Antarctica

Great city, very friendly. Didn’t speak enough Spanish so we had to order off menus blind and hope for the best – found lots of yummy food this way! Everyone were very patient with the American tourists!
