Lived in Kittery, ME for a year, just across the river from this gem of a city on the eastern coast. The downtown area is a great place to grab a drink and relax for hours with friends outside. There are also some great restaurants and bars, but closing time is a bit early for my taste. Oh, and there’s a great burrito place downtown as well. I believe it’s called “Dos Amigos”, someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Lived in southern Maine for a year. I’d definately go back for a vacation; everyone is so laid back here. Portsmouth, NH is just across the river and worth a visit, too.

Beautiful countryside, wonderful people. Being an American, I’ve heard all of the stereotypical “rude French” nonsense. Well, it’s not true, at least here! A small group and myself went on a tour of a few castles in this region, and had lunch at a small restaurant in one of the towns along the way. The food is very straight forward, but delicious. I had the best duck I’ve ever had here.

I was only here for a few days back in 2002, but this area seemed pretty nice. It was September and miserably hot, though. The people were nice enough, and there were plenty of places to go.
