Lived in Kittery, ME for a year, just across the river from this gem of a city on the eastern coast. The downtown area is a great place to grab a drink and relax for hours with friends outside. There are also some great restaurants and bars, but closing time is a bit early for my taste. Oh, and there’s a great burrito place downtown as well. I believe it’s called “Dos Amigos”, someone correct me if I’m wrong.
over 5 years agoLived in southern Maine for a year. I’d definately go back for a vacation; everyone is so laid back here. Portsmouth, NH is just across the river and worth a visit, too.
over 5 years agoBeautiful countryside, wonderful people. Being an American, I’ve heard all of the stereotypical “rude French” nonsense. Well, it’s not true, at least here! A small group and myself went on a tour of a few castles in this region, and had lunch at a small restaurant in one of the towns along the way. The food is very straight forward, but delicious. I had the best duck I’ve ever had here.
