St. Louis, Missouri

Untitled

I went to St Louis to attend a big technical event (an IEEE 802 Plenary Meeting). It was my first and (up today) the only time I had the chance to participate in such kind of event. It was one of the highest points in my professional career. As for the city itself, I found it to be great. I visited a lot of places – walked downtown, went to the historic train station, watched a hockey game live, saw the city at the arch, looked upon the Mississipi River, visited the Science Museum… it was a life changing experience, I got back to Brazil full of new ideas. I spent one week there. I would like to go there once again, now with my family and kids.

Minas Gerais, Brazil

Untitled

Minas Gerais is my home state. There are countless nice places to go: huge lakes such as Furnas, caves such as Maquine, historic cities such as Ouro Preto and Tiradentes, waters such as São Lourenço and Caxambu… waterfalls (lots of them), mountains to climb, plains to run through. Minas has it all.

Uberaba, Minas Gerais

A place that still hasn't discovered how good it can be...

My brother used to live there a few years ago, and I live in a close city (Uberlandia). Uberaba is often compared with Uberlândia; despite being smaller, it is in some ways a better place. I feel that people there still haven’t realized how nice the city is and how good it can be. I just hope it can keep growing without losing its character. If you go there, ask for directions and go to Peiropolis, a small district outside the city, where dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts were. The district’s museum is small but nice, and is a testimony to the people that work hard to preserve the place and keep it going.
