Bull Moose Music

Worth visiting!

Bullmoose music

This place is cool. You can find a lot of rare music. I have two tips 1. make sure you look in the used section against the wall for your music. 2. If you don’t find what you want, Bullmoose has a ware house with a lot more music, just ask about it (I can’t remember where it is located, I think Scarborough Maine, but ask).

Also, in the Portland bullmoose, there is a VERY GOOD pizza place right next door, stop by and get a slice! or even a full pizza. Very good food!

A tip I have about this place

I have a suggestion for folks going to Portland. I have been a resident of Portland Maine for a year and a half and have never been treated as poorly as I have at Joes on Congress Street. I never get a “hello” or “have a good night” or anything from this shop. The fact of the matter is, the clerks are not very friendly (there is a tall man I am thinking of in particular). Just today, I was cussed at (with f words among others) for canceling an item that I decided I did not want. The job can be stressful I know, I have done it, but clerks need to handle it with more class than this (my 6 pack was SLAMMED onto the counter after the canceled item)! I would recommend Pauls, 7-11, Hannaford or rite aid (and there are more places to go to) that are all in convenient areas of Portland and can deal with a canceled item with more grace. Do yourself a favor and don’t go to Joes Smoke shop! Otherwise, there are many friendly places here in Portland Maine.

cool

It was freezing cold when I came here but it was cool. I liked it a lot better than manchester but sadly, there is almost no green to be found in the city. It seemed big to me at first but I really feel I saw almost everything I needed to see and enjoyed it all. Its a pretty easy place to navigate and there are some cool pubs to get a drink.

great place

This is a BEAUTIFUL place! My advice: enjoy the scenry and don’t get to caught up in the trendy overpriced shops. Lots of pretty buildings and streets are to be found if you take the time to find them. I went to a pizza place where they serve HUGE pizzas. and I am someone who likes to eat. you have to make reservations to eat here but for 7-9 euros you get a pizza that is large, thin and very hard to finish it is a great place to fill up. enzo’s I believe is the name. I love pizza in france. in my two weeks I think I got pizza three times. quimper is a cute little city similar to the one I live in here in the usa.

Brest

one word describes this place: gray

this city is a perfect place to find many different hues of gray.

I went to a great pizza resturant and that was the highlight of my stay.

I know some people who go to school here, including my gf, and they all say its a pretty gross place and I can see why after seeing it myself.

Paris

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

what an incredible city! filled with culture and wonderful people. though I froze my ass of the three days I was there, I had a wonderful french gf who showed me things beyond what the typical tourist will see. we stayed in a small hostel hidden in a small street. I feel I got a good feel for what paris really is, beyond all the typical touristy things.

meh

kind of a nasty place. in five days here I saw a huge brawl at a food court between 50 to 60 teen age kids, a group of hooligans chanting nasty things together, drunken young adults puking in the streets in mass on friday night, scantily glad gross girls in the streets and people using manchester as their personal bathroom a few times. yah…. I mean, I’ve been to boston, paris, NY and many other big cities, but they have a little more class. this place is nasty. please tell me there are places worth checking out. liverpool was at least pretty cool and had some culture but this place is just a trendy soulless grey city.

Why I want to go to this place

Hello! (I posted this in the manchester, england page too)

I am coming here the day after Xmas to see my gf who is from france! Let me start by saying that I really want to back pack through europe! Jan. 14 2007 is a day I may start that dream. Like I said, I land in paris dec. 26. Technically, my plane leaves paris in jan. 14, but I have been thinking..maybe I just travel europe instead of going back home. I have a plane ticket from manchester to paris, which would than return me to the states. instead of going from paris to boston, I was thinking of starting my trip in manchester..or fly to paris and start there..I am an American who deeply wants to explore the various cultures within europe. I am looking to make connections because I really want to back pack throughout europe. if anyone has tips or any kind of help please please get in touch. I might start this on jan. 14 with the bare essentials..30 pounds if I am lucky..few articles of clothing, music, a little money and my wits! I would love to network with americans with a similar dream and europeans all around!
