One of the most beautiful towns in England
I have been here many, many times since childhood and never tire of Whitby, it has a magical quality especially in mid-late autumn when the tourists have gone home.
A great place to kick back, chill out and do nothing for a couple of days – a personal bolt-hole! That’s not to say there’s nothing to do it Whitby, it remains a thriving commerical and tourist town, managing that balance in a way that would put other, larger attrations to shame.
Avoid middle of summer when its packed, try April-May or mid-September to early October (wrap up warm after late September).
