A review of this place

I’ve never been on nights where there’s no concert, but the concerts I have seen (Of Montreal, Ted Leo + The Pharmacists) have been amazing! It’s gritty and gross, but if you’re there for the music, that doesn’t matter. I know there’s a bathroom and a bar; what more do you need?

Hard Rock Cafe Houston

A tip I have about this place

It’s the perfect place to eat before or after a concert at the adjacent Verizon Wireless Theater. Get there early, however, because naturally it gets busy on concert nights.

A review of this place

Alright, I’m not going to lie, I’m not a fan of Rothko AT ALL. Frankly, I can’t stand his “work,” but that’s my own opinion. However, I did enjoy the Rothko Chapel, not because of the ahem artwork featured on the wall, but the peaceful feel of the chapel that you can’t really find anywhere else. I can’t think of anywhere where I’ve felt more… free… to think what I want and feel what I want. It was very uplifting, sitting there, staring at a black canvas, being drawn in deeper to my soul to hear God’s voice (you can hear whatever voice you want, it’s non-denominational).

The Menil Collection

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Don’t forget the Byzantine frescoes! They’re breathtaking and the only real Byzantine frescoes in the Western world. They’re set up in the Byzantine Fresco Chapel Museum, a short walk from the Menil Collection building and the Rothko Chapel. That was my favorite part of the whole collection.

How this place changed my life

Ah, I grew up loving Astroworld. Alas, it’s dead and gone! Some days I have this enormous desire to walk through it… to ride on the Serial Thriller and the Viper or get soaked on the Tidal Wave. It makes me want to cry!!
