A review of this place
Easily my new favourite curry house! Small but nice ambiance, excellent food, and even the bathrooms are quite nice ;)

Don’t use the online booking – it automatically directs you to the original Vittoria restaurant (on the other side of town!)
Also, sign up and request a voucher booklet before you go – we got a free bottle of bubbly (£17.50 discount on our bill!) :)
It was a good night – ended up being £10 a head which is bargainous, and my mate and I took them up on the ‘split a pizza and pasta dish’ – the pizza was gorgeous, the pesto on the gnocchi just a bit too strong, so very glad I didn’t have a full plate of it! And J’s calzone was huge!

It was actually kind of dull. Much more fun escaping and going to sit in the Gardens chatting to 99!
But I guess I’ll go back – there’s as much fun people watching as looking at the art. Man, were those 18thC artists obsessed with horses behinds!! ;)

I have a vague recollection of being taken here when I was very young – and all of the books! Libraries – proper libraries – are lovely places. So of course I should go visit. And join, of course – I could save a small fortune by borrowing books once in a while! ;)

Yes, I’ve been here. Loads, actually. But not on my own, and not since I actually moved to Edinburgh. Time to stop walking past and have a wander round – especially since it’s free! :)

I have actually been here before, many times, but so long ago it seems like a different lifetime. I’m sure the place has changed loads since my childhood visits!
That said… as I added this to my list of places to visit, I had a mental image of wandering around all those stuffed animals, and the blue whale skeleton in the front, and the oddly caged trains with bits that moved when you pressed buttons. And quite frankly, the idea of going back on my own sounded a bit scary!
Still. Scary is good. Besides, probably changed a lot, right?

Having lived within spitting distance of Edinburgh my entire life, even before moving here, I was amazed to have never visited the botanic gardens. Finally made the trip last year, with a willing friend. Unfortunately we’d picked the tail end of the growing season, so there were surprisingly few plants to see – bit of a let down, really.
Largely, though, we’d gone to see the Earth From the Air exhibit, which was on display there at the time. And it was amazing! Maybe this year I’ll go back to see some growing things instead of picture!

No rush. But I kind of feel I should, y’know?

Say ‘Amsterdam’ and most people get a certain image – put that out of your mind, please!
I really want to visit Amsterdam for two reasons: (1) it sounds like a pretty cool place, which happens to be not that far away, and (2) my grandmother was Dutch. She grew up in the UK, but there’s a fairly obvious part of my genetic history from this place. I think that’s reason enough for a visit!
