Kaş, Antalya

From Kaş, you should take a daylong boat tour of the Lycian Coast, where you will find a pure blue Mediterranean, sunken cities, tombs jutting from the water, villages accessible by boat, paragliders—! Highly recommended.

Washington, D.C., District of Columbia

My favorite city in the country! Every building downtown has hosted some historic event. For instance, you walk along—and I’m being only slightly facetious here—and you see this shack, and it’s like, “Oh, that’s the house where Betsy Ross sewed the American flag,” and there, that little place next door, that’s where Thomas Jefferson heard news from the Louisiana Purchase, &c. &c.

(…Actually come to think of it Betsy Ross probably didn’t sew the first flag in Washington, but you get the point…)

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

Untitled

Alright, so a coincidence: One day after I wrote that I wanted to travel to Ouagadougou, here I am, walking down State Street, when I see that the travel agency is advertising round-trip tickets to Ouagadougou for a cool $2,337! No lie.

(Sometimes I wish I had a spare $2,337 lying around just so that I could go to a place to say that I had been there.)
