Much less formal and expensive than its sister, The French Laundry. We went for lunch on a Wednesday and had not problems getting a table without reservations.

Utterly delicious – food prepared with attention to every detail and pleasing to every sense. Every bite made me think, “This is how food should be.”

We’ll definitely be returning.

The building is very well designed – as a piece of architectural but also functionally. I really liked the layout and the gardens too.

DO NOT MISS the Andy Goldsworthy piece in the entryway. Much fun is to be had following the crack.

You can see so much of the city from here – even the top of the Golden Gate Bridge peeking over the Presidio. Beautiful.

I lived here for 3 years when I was a tot.

Not so expensive you have to mortgage your house but clear some space on your credit card.

And watch out for the champagne and caviar cart or you might have to sell an organ to pay after all.

Truly gorgeous architecture – amazing painted ceilings! It’s like a cathedral to knowledge.

Those monkeys are brazen and will bite you!

Waxworks! Scale models! A ride in a “barrel”! And a bit of whiskey to get you motivated in the gift shop.

I am so going back.
