Montmartre

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

The montmartre area is wonderful—it is laidback, has an eclectic feel, and there is a sea of artists displaying their works. I recommend making the time to have lunch there, see sacre couer, and stroll through the artist market.

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

My advice:
1. Do not miss the Arc de Triomphe and the Montmartre area.
2. Do not expect the locals to speak much English.

Grantham

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

I studied abroad in Grantham at Harlaxton College and loved every single second of my experience there. The college is in the english countryside, but the town provides plenty of nightlife! The locals are very helpful and embrace the out-of-town visitors.

Brussels

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

If you are backpacking through Europe, considering stopping in Brussels! It was unexpectedly beautiful with its impressive architecture and cobblestone streets. There are also several sites to see (such as the European Union) and delicious belgium waffle vendors on the streets. You can also usually get fairly inexpensive airline tickets when coming from other european countries.

Barcelona

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Barcelona is VERY beautiful and exciting! I fell in love with its mountain views, beaches, open markets, shows, palm trees, and of course—sangria. I highly recommend a trip here, but be careful in the the Plaza area at night. I stayed at a hostel in the Plaza and also on the beach. I think the beach location was safer and definitely a better choice when the weather is warm. Make sure to visit the Park Guell for the most beautiful mosaics I’ve ever seen!
