over 7 years agoMy favorite place in all of Savannah, in the center of a lovely city. Notice the small frogs on the fountain. I was dipping my toes in the water when I took this photo. It was August. As hot as August can be. And in Savannah, here, on this spot, I found cool relief.
over 7 years agoI love this city. So much that I have thought once or twice about going to the Savannah School of Design. Everyone I met there was very friendly and helpful. Be sure to eat at Mrs. Wilkes’ Boarding House. Get there early, expect to wait and be hungry. The river cruise is also very beautiful. Toss the maps and the travel guides and just wander the old section. Even in summer there is a breeze from the river, the fountains in the squares, and huge trees for shade. Lovely shade. Cities of today — planned communities — forgot SHADE.
