Stumptown Coffee

Worth visiting!

Yummm!

Tea is really my thing, but I love Stumptown coffee. I miss Stumptown coffee. My faves are Hair Bender and Holler Mountain (blends). The Belmont and Downtown (SW) locations are both great, and worth checking out separately.

Fallingwater

Actually, I want to live there.

Brilliant, beautiful.

Stunning beauty

Dig the people (okay, my people – my Grandmother and some other family emigrated to the states, but we still have family there).

Breakfast is amazing. Great for travellers on the go for a long day.

Bahamas

Worth visiting!

Aside from nearly crashing over the Bermuda Triangle

(really!), it was a nice trip. Pretty, a little tourist-y for my taste, though I’m sure with some research you could avoid some of that. Still, a nice break from a Colorado winter.

Hawai'i

Worth visiting!

It's pretty.

Been there twice. Nice if you know locals. There are other places I’d rather spend my money on now, but if someone offered me a trip I certainly wouldn’t say no.

Arenal volcano and hot springs were a nice end to the trip. Monteverde was my favorite.

Surreal

An interesting little day trip. Quite surreal after travelling weeks in somewhat dour Spain. I had fun. It might be interesting to live there, in the way it might be interesting to travel with carnies for a little while. If that’s your cup of tea. It’s not so much mine. Went there, glad I did and don’t really need to go back.

Portugal

I Loved, Loved, Loved Portugal

Unfortunatley, I was only there for a few days’ diversion from Spain. Firstly, the people were so friendly, not in any obnoxious way, but relaxed and open and genuinely nice. I wondered why I’d been spending so much time in Spain…It is much cheaper than Spain, much less developed, and in Lisboa there is much poverty and some simmering racial tension. Still, I loved it. The Alfama is not slickly pretty but has the deeper beauty of a noble, wrinkled old woman. The Algarve will be my next trip. If you go, you must go to a club to hear Fado.

I didn’t really click with the people as I have elsewhere, but so much to see if you enjoy history. The towns, churches, squares and such are beautiful. Not great for non meat-eaters, except on the coasts and in Madrid, though.
