Wilmington

Not worth visiting!

Summer of 2005: Wilmington

I spent my summer of 2005 in Wilmington De working for MBNA (the credit card company), and also for Top of the Hill Apartments as a leasing agent. I lived in downtown Wilmington and it was mostly scary. I woke up to yelling every morning and many times I was afraid to leave the house, day or night. It was the first time I had lived in the nort east and it was really neat to be so close to so many states. I recommend WATERICE.

Hilo

Worth visiting!

Summer of 2006: Hilo

Summer of 2006 I housesitted for my aunt in Hilo, Hawaii. Hilo is a quiet beach town that is very differant from the other islands and the other cities of Hawaii. Great farmer’s market, the Palace theater is a must, but also the Kress, the dollar theatre which is a great way to spend the afternoon to save yourself from a sunburn. Sometimes it can rain for a week solid but when everything is going right it rains all night and suns all day. THe beaches are rocky and not always sand, but the hidden places like the hot ponds, black sand beach, and lava make up for the slight inconvience. I recomend water shoes in the ocean. AND SNORKLING.

Austin

Worth visiting!

Summer of 2003: Austin

I lived in Austin the summer of 2003 after I graduated HIgh School in Dallas. Day of graduation I packed up the car and drove to Austin looking for an apartment with my best friend from 1st grade. I worked at Inner Space Caverns after visiting there once when I was really high and loving it. It was the best job I have ever had. I met a boy and found my way around this place. I can still see myself settling down in Austin.

Minneapolis

Worth visiting!

Summer of 2004: Minneapolis

I spent the summer of 2004 after my freshman year of college in Minnnapolis, Minnesota. I worked at Costal Seafoods and hung out with the best crew in the world. Hidden Beach: a once nudist beach as I am told was my primary base during the summer and where I spent my days off. The Wedge: the healthfood store where all the singles of minneapolis some how find a reason to make a trip to the Wedge at least 3 times a day. BIKE TRAILS: Minneapolis taught me how to ride my bike everywhere. I never drove my car in this town, the bike trails are awesome and so are the bike boys. Express Bike Shop: located in St. Paul, Dave, Pat and the crew of misfit kids they have working for them are awesome. Really friendly and devoid of that snobbery you will encounter at most bike shops. Saturday Night Rides: Every saturday we a random assortment of bikers met at the Mc D’s and followed a volunteer all around the city until everyone was gone. Sometimes at midnight I would find myself 20 miles from my house and have to ride all the way home. I love this palce and it will always be dear to me. But NEVER again will I visit it in the winter. That was Hell.
