On a 3 week trip to Europe, we stayed in Paris for about 6 days and it was definitely our favourite part (we also visited Italy, Switzerland and Vienna).

Definitely learn some basic basic french, and start each conversions with a greeting, since people here aren’t too pleased if you start talking to them in english, or start taling abrubtly with them. But once you’ve shown that you’ve put in some effort to learn their language and greetings, they are extremely helpful. They’re also conscious of their english, but they will realize your french is much worse than their english, and they’ll soon switch.

We met some wonderfully helpful people and had some pretty interesting conversations, that was probably what stood out.

Oh and try to walk around as much as possible and explore different neighbourhoods.
