It seems that most people visit Aspendos as a stop on a tour from Antalya — they hop into the theater and then hop right out without visiting the rest of the site. There’s actually quite a lot more than just the theater, though it hasn’t been restored like in Perge. Still, worth going on your own and exploring!
over 3 years agoOkay, so maybe it’s a bit strong to say ‘not worth visiting’. I mean, it is really an amazing thing to see, but at the same time, it’s crawling with people, you get patted down for guns and sharp objects at the door, there are any number of touts waiting for you when you exit. I thought the whole thing was exhausting and frankly, hated Agra all around. Sorry, Agra. Can’t please everyone.
