Swan Oyster Depot

Worth visiting!

Fresh & free spirited

“Mayberry-style friendliness, impeccable seafood and affordable prices—this family-owned oyster bar has earned its legendary status.”

HOW TRUE! What a beautifully simplistic place. A seafood diner/bar of sorts. I semi-flirted and got myself a deal. For the price of 5 oysters, I got 6 and not just one kind of oysters but 6 different kinds from different oceans and climates. The young man was very kind. Indeed, we got souvenirs (Oyster Depot Sponge) and my clean oyster shells in a neat little paper baggie.

Very open and friendly atmosphere, you can certainly have conversations about anything and should expect other customers to join in.

Surfers!!!

it was January in SF and the surfers were munching on adrenaline for lunch surfing the waves under the bridge. You have to walk at least halfway across the bridge for the experience. The wind was obnoxiously wonderful. The more I write the more I miss SF…

826 Valencia

Worth visiting!

All things Pirate. living the life.

The storefront on Valencia was mysterious enough. However, Instead of facing deadly pirate-ware attesting to their dangerous lifestyle when you walk in, you see silly, serious and daydreaming kids sitting with mentors separated by a thick rope. The smaller part of the store, near the front does contain deadly pirate-ware for sale. Bottles with actual messages (I was tempted), great treasure boxes (I bought one) and sharp objects (didn’t think customs officers would be happy).

Block Island

Worth visiting!

biking trip!!!

the best way to get around the island is renting a bike and buying a map. Unfortunately when me and my friend went, the shops were still closed for the season. Therefore, some parts of the island were eerily quiet but since I had someone with me, it was peaceful instead. The ferry ride was unnecessarily long and I was mildly sick.

hidden beaches, cute stores, cliffs, and cows!

Provincetown

Worth visiting!

no matter how negative I sound, it was still worth it.

I was excited at first, because, well… its P-town! The second gay capital of the world. It was pretty entertaining for a day trip. However, after a while it might grow tiresome. It is quaint until it becomes boring. Still worth seeing though.

not sure...

We only drove through the city, however, the road near the lakes were beautiful. It was sad that we didn’t picnic on the shores.

I made love

I daydream about this city. I finally went and it was like making love. sweet sweet love. Especially Valencia Street with its edgy atmosphere, semi-dangerous streets, and very unique shops. I still wear and love the items I bought in their second hand stores. There were bookshops and cafes everywhere… I wandered, dwelled and drooled. And that was just Valencia St.

SF reminds me a lot of New York City in terms of the different flavors of neighborhoods (main stream vs. rebellious, futuristic vs. historical etc etc). One thing that was uniquely SF was the boxy, pastel houses and their twisted (literally) trees in front of those houses.

Is SF too small or it is it very intimate?
