Swan Oyster Depot, Nob Hill

Fresh & free spirited

“Mayberry-style friendliness, impeccable seafood and affordable prices—this family-owned oyster bar has earned its legendary status.”

HOWTRUE! What a beautifully simplistic place. A seafood diner/bar of sorts. I semi-flirted and got myself a deal. For the price of 5 oysters, I got 6 and not just one kind of oysters but 6 different kinds from different oceans and climates. The young man was very kind. Indeed, we got souvenirs (Oyster Depot Sponge) and my clean oyster shells in a neat little paper baggie.

Very open and friendly atmosphere, you can certainly have conversations about anything and should expect other customers to join in.

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

Surfers!!!

it was January in SF and the surfers were munching on adrenaline for lunch surfing the waves under the bridge. You have to walk at least halfway across the bridge for the experience. The wind was obnoxiously wonderful. The more I write the more I miss SF…

826 Valencia, Mission District

All things Pirate. living the life.

The storefront on Valencia was mysterious enough. However, Instead of facing deadly pirate-ware attesting to their dangerous lifestyle when you walk in, you see silly, serious and daydreaming kids sitting with mentors separated by a thick rope. The smaller part of the store, near the front does contain deadly pirate-ware for sale. Bottles with actual messages (I was tempted), great treasure boxes (I bought one) and sharp objects (didn’t think customs officers would be happy).
