Great cheap breakfast to be had at the Plaza. It’s on Freemont Street — about 10 minutes drive from where we were at the MGM Grand. $5.99 — and really yummy!

Favorite city on earth

I lived here for five weeks in the summer of ’98 and was totally and completely enchanted. We saw Shakespeare performed in trees and in pubs; we found a little hole in the wall pub that seated about 10 people and camped there every night drinking hard cider; we walked by the river and had scones with the cows; we visited the church in the round and many, many colleges; we heard Evensong in three different cathedrals….

I miss Cambridge and punting on the river and misty mornings and cobblestone streets….lovely stuff.
