Brandt House

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

The Brandt House is a beautiful Bed & Breakfast/Inn located in one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Greenfield. The Inn and grounds are gorgeous and the hosts and staff are wonderful. The Inn is located a short walk from public tennis courts and Highland Park with miles of hiking trails. It is walking distance to downtown Greenfield & the dining and shopping of Main Street.

Rose-Ann's Bakery & Catering

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

Not only yummy, but amazingly beautiful. Rose-Ann’s baked goods – especially cakes and cup-cakes are so artfully decorated – you don’t want to eat them, until you do! There is a restaurant serving breakfast & lunch (and of course baked goods & dessert.)

One of the great things about Rose-Ann’s is “Thursday-to-go” which is a full meal (salad or appetizer, entree with sides, and dessert) They advertise the week’s menu in the local paper (or you could call), you call ahead to order it and pick it up Thursday between 4pm and 6pm. It is usually well made comfort foods and it is very reasonably priced.

Mirling's Bakery

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

OH MY! Mirlings is what I would call french baking at its utmost best! These folks have it down. Cakes, pies, brownies, cookies, and all things yummy . . . they even have milk to go with. Many birthday cakes have been bought here & many more will be too . . .

Cafe KOKO

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

Excellent coffee & coffee drinks, fresh baked goods, yummy and different sandwich & light fare foods, great art, wireless internet, and live music regularly. What else is there? Maybe fresh made smoothies, local ingredients, friendly locals, and great local brew. A great place to stop for a bite while traveling through, during a day of shopping, or a destination to revel in local music and art installations (including the ceiling – check it out.)

Wilson's Department Store

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

Greenfield is fortunate enough to have it’s own department store. Wilson’s is a family owned multi-department store. It’s awesome. There is even a salon! Definitely stop if you have the chance – there are very few of these left in the US.

Wonderful!! This restaurant has both Chinese and Japanese food and they do both very well. The Sushi & Sashimi is very good. This is an oasis in Greenfield. The family who own it & the staff are very nice. A great dining experience.

Gravity Hill

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

from Wikipedia: The area is home to an optical illusion known as a gravity hill. It is located on Shelburne Road, while facing Greenfield, immediately after the Route 2 bridge. From under the overpass, the road appears to rise slightly to a crest a few hundred feet away. The illusion is slight, but convincing. A car in neutral at the “bottom” of the rise will appear to crawl uphill.

Ok, hokey, I know, but – if you are kicking around Greenfield it’s free and kinda cool. It’s on the road that is right behind the shopping plaza that has Staples & Stop & Shop (off Mohawk trail – aka: Rt.2). Just keep going west (away from Gfld center until you come to the Rt.2 overpass.

Taylor's Tavern

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Sports bar & family restaurant

Taylors has an upstairs and downstairs bar. Upstairs has pool tables and downstairs has sports casts. The menu is basic american fare. The dining room feels like a ship – there are no windows and it has wood paneled walls. Not bad food, more fun to go on Friday, Saturday night & play pool with friends. Hopping Thanksgiving Eve!
