...since I just hopped over the border from cervinia for a day and then went back again ;-) think it still counts though… the views of the matterhorn are amazing.

...being half australian means this is my other homeland, and I’ve been to quite a few places within it. although there’s still so much still to see – it’s a very beautiful country.

everywhere you look in iceland you see something else that makes your jaw drop, it’s a stunningly desolate country. um, and if you fancy spoiling yourself, stay in the hotel budir ;-)

just got back from 10 days boarding in jasna. amazing snow, very interesting mountain setup, plenty of opportunities for backcountry malarky, a small park, and really very bad food (apart from the tre studinsky hotel, which is ace).

I visited manama a couple of times while my mum lived in bahrain a few years ago. aside from being struck at just how many foreign branded shops there are (and falling in love with dairy queen, which we still don’t have here in the uk), I really enjoyed just wandering aimlessly around city and the souk in particular, which is fantastic. also the grand mosque and the qur’an museum are amazing.

I was only here for 3 days, which is a ridiculously short time, but just enough time to fall in love with the place. I couldn’t do much because I was also hit with gastric flu at the time – the only thing I managed to do was walk up around the giant sequoia trees. But I desperately want to go back one day and spend some real time hiking around this incredible place.
