I went to this little private Christian school in Mt Albert from when I was 7 until I was 9 and we used to catch the train there and when I was little I thought that was so cool, catching the train with just my older siblings and no parents and it was the first time I had to wear a school uniform which I loved and I loved that school, it has this really big really old house that we were only allowed in part of for music class and we there were rumours that there were rooms without floors because it was so old they had rotted away and skeletons in some places. All the houses in the neighbourhood look like they’ve been there for ages, and I loved that when I was little I thought it made the place more romantic.

through the Waitakeres with the tramping club at uni. (For any americans reading this “tramping” is what you call hiking and is not the same as what tramping is over there. We tramped/hiked for something like four hours with way too much uphill and I nearly died but they people were nice and some of the veiws were so beautiful. We stayed the night in a little hut somewhere in the middle of the ranges and then tramped down to Murawai beach the next day.

I love reading this page because it reminds me not to take living here for granted.
