Remember US Blues and My Father’s Place ?

They are ancient history now.

But it was fun while it lasted, and did I mention the good money waitressing ?

in fact it is where I met Mr. B.

But we never could afford to buy a home there, so we moved farther east.

I haven’t been back there in a dog’s age.
It was a great place to commute to Manhattan from.
And when I was younger, and wilder, there used to be a pretty active bar life. Even Live Music at Gaffney’s. I am sure that is gone.

there is a very nice New age shop called The Essence in Northport.
My kids go there to get me presents !

I have not dined there in a long time, but I seem to recall there was a Seafood place on the Water that was good.

The infamous mispelling murder “Satin Rules” (It was supposed to be Satan) occurred here.. or culminated here. Rumors are that it happened farther inland.

I do not recommend Steers Beach. Crab Meadow Beach is great and they even have a restaurant. I hear that the Golf Course there is pretty good too.

I have been to the Shack and the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium.

The stinky low tide only happens on the Pond Side when they open the sluices. Otherwise it is quite lovely and there are lots of folks who fish on the causeway. (Though do check if beaches are open after heavy rain) There is a lot of wildlife here too.

And the best boatyard on the North Shore is Centerport Boat Works.

Up Mill Dam Road is a pub called The Beach Pub, it is pretty popular locally. They have darts, pool and shuffleboard.
I don’t drink so I would never go there, but I know folks who do.

I have been around this community since I was in the womb. I lived elsewhere from age 3 till about 15 years ago. Maybe it is a 43place too ?
