I had a terrible time, but I also was in the middle of a horrible marital separation when I went. It’s worth seeing, for sure, if you’re curious – if not a bit overpriced and over-hyped. Im guessing you take out of it what you bring in this case.

It was named “Armpit of the US” by the New York Times. It is pretty slim on attractions, but I made an extensive search of the town for the fabled T Shirts that proclaim the town’s “honorary” title, and all the people I met were really nice. However, I wont be moving there soon or anything.

My siblings and I agree that this was one of the single coolest places we stumbled on during our childhood excursions with our parents. A beautiful little hidden gem.

I tried to find it once, but it was night and not well marked. I heard they are giving tours now – would love to go.
