i love it.

i wish i spent more time there. the fact that it was a beautiful day helped.

would love to go again.

turkoise was a lot of fun. i actually had the flu for most of my time there, and i still had a good time.

i went with 3 friends, but a lot of people go alone and it’s perfectly acceptable. lots of activities, lots of fun people, great weather, great beach, just good vibes all around. you meet a lot of people.

just be prepared that it is a bit like a college fraternity party, especially at night. lots of people getting wasted and hooking up. unless, of course, you have the flu… :(

I was here for a week doing a volunteer stint. It’s the poorest city in Honduras. Really nice and friendly people. It puts things in perspective when you see how people are so happy and open and warm with such little money. Community and family are what’s important, not monetary things. And my experience in La Esperanza really showed that.

That being said, if you’re looking for a vacation spot, this isn’t it. Just a nice place to pass through for a day. Or a good place to spend time volunteering.
