Bend, Oregon

An enjoyable town to visit or live in. Being on the edge of the desert, you have both desert and woodland nature nearby. ALso you have Bachelor Butte, Century Drive, the Deschutes River that goes through town.

Wiesbaden, Hessen

A lot of good memories from this place

Unfortunately they are from the 60s! I imagine it has changed a lot. We went to school at Vanderberg Jr. High and lived just over the hill (I forget the housing area). Now this is a real good place for kid to grow up in. I remember seeing from our third floor baalcony the Greek chapel on the Nenoberg (sp?) on the other side of Wiesbaden.

Tamazunchale, San Luis Potosí (State)

Even less touristy than Xilitla, yet friendly

A couple hours Southeast from Xilitla, Tamazunchale has a lot to offer the plucky traveler. Get some sturdy shoes. This place is almost as up-and-down as Xilitla is. Markets, people carrying heavy loads with tumplines, wildlife, good food…you name it. If you are feeling really adventurous – like we did – you can devote several hours to ascending the Cerro de la Cruz by foot. Excellent scenery at several points on the way up the dirt roads. It would have been an excellent view for us at the very top – if it wasn’t for the clouds that were obscuring the town from us

NOTE: I misspelled the town in my title. It should be Tamazunchale (no “i”). I can’t seem to fix the error.
