Kilwin's!

My favorite lemonade – and tons of great gluten free treat options, too.

Mote Marine Laboratory

Worth visiting!

Mote

Mote was a nice side trip on our visit to Sarasota. There are tons of exhibits – dolphins, manatees, turtles, fish, shells, sharks, and more, spread between two buildings, and a short walk, including a street crossing, between. Unfortunately the cinema was down during our trip, which we were really looking forward to. Also, there are no automatic/button push doors, which can make it slightly difficult to navigate by wheelchair if you’re traveling alone.

Florida Botanical Gardens

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I’d had this on my list for a while, but got a tip that it was a nice place to sit and knit, so combine that and wanting to see their holiday lights (nice, but not exciting for the most part), and it became a priority.

On the whole, as far as actual flora goes, nearby Sunken Gardens in St. Pete beats FBG hands down. But for a peek into local nature FBG wins out with gorgeous water views and plenty of peaceful places to hang out. And with a price of free, that really does make it an ideal spot for nature lovers to sit and knit until dusk.

Japan

(in Asia)
Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto.

I don’t know why, but I’m enamoured with much of (what I know of) Japanese culture, and would really love to visit. I don’t know how far off this goal is, but probably years. Whenever it happens, it’ll have to be when I can see the cherry blossoms (in other words, April or May).

Even if this is years away, I would like to start researching it sometime this year. I’m not even sure where all I would like to visit. Definitely the major cities, but I’d like to see more than that, as well.

Lived here most of my life.

I love it here. Always have. I could deal with less humid summers, but I think they’re a fair trade for that horrid white stuff people call snow.
