Although I still want to go to New Orleans, and may even go during this time as a ‘volunteer’ to assist in the disaster relief efforts, I don’t think it is appropriate that I leave this entry on my list of places I want to visit right now.

I honestly don’t expect that New Orleans will ever be the same, and I suspect it will be several years before it is anywhere close to being ready for any type of real tourist influx again.

The clean-up efforts are going to be long, hard, and physically/emotionally devastating to all who are involved. We (my s.o. and I) have already donated large amounts of money to the Red Cross specifically for the Katrina / Gulf rescue efforts. I would like to encourage everyone to give whatever they can to this cause as well. You can donate directly on line at: Red Cross Donations

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost so much, and have such a long ‘journey’ still ahead of them!

I spent three days at the Harley-Davidson Harley Owners’ Group Annual National Rally, which was held in Chattanooga, Tennessee this year - fun, food, drink, dance, vendors, etc., etc., etc. - a Rockin’ Party On The River with 15,000 other bikers!

I have plans to take a photo safari to the Serengeti some day . . .

Sometimes, you have to face the “evil” to get . . . to Where You’re Going—that’s what happens when you fly in or out of Atlanta (sad to say).

I’ve flown in and out of Atlanta many, many times and have (as of yet) not had a good experience in the process. But, the end result (getting to my final destination) always ends up being worth the hassles of H-J/Atlanta International.

It is just one of life’s little “hassles,” I guess . . .

We had a great visit to this quaint little town—a B&B tucked into a hide-away section of a historical part of town, and trips out on sailboats and fishing boats on the Bay each day . . . a little slice of Heaven!

I was able to take my Dad back to visit here when he traveled up to visit me while I was living in the D.C. area. He had lived in Havre De Grace as a young boy when his Dad was in the military. We were able to actually find the house he had lived in - and, it had not changed in 50 years! The current residents (renters, still) allowed us to take lots of photos. They are prized possessions for my Dad. He phoned his brother in CO on my cell right after seeing the house and they talked about it for such a long time - the memories were very special for him, and I’m glad I was able to take him back again.
