Puerto Vallarta

Worth visiting!

I just got back Sunday and I had a wonderful time. It was incredibly humid, but it provided for some amazing storms at night. On Saturday there was an incredible lightening storm. I did the Canopy tour, when you ride down zip lines. That was super fun, and the guides were really great. It was with Vallarta Adventures. I stayed at Velas Vallarta, which was a nice hotel. The rooms were great and the people there were really friendly and nice. The food was only so-so at both restaurants. The best restaurant that I went to was La Campana River which was about an hour outside of town when we went on the city bus tour. I had the most amazing seafood of my life there. Over-all, it was an amazing vacation, very relaxing.

I’m off tomorrow at 6:30 in the morning!! I can’t wait to eat Mexican food and get some color on my pale ass. (Not literally… well, maybe.)

Berkeley

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

Berkeley is a somewhat calmer version of San Fran. The majority of the people drive Hybrids… I say this half-joking, half-envy. Now, the thing that keeps me coming back is the food. Zachary’s pizza is the best pizza you can get on the West Coast, possibly the greater half of the United States. AMAZING. The mushroom/spinach is what their known for, and it may sound nasty, but trust me, unbelievably good. If you like Indian food, go to Cafe Raj. And the place that I’ve gone to recently that cured a very nasty hang over was Top Dog across the street from the University. They have a wonderful selection of hot-dogs. I got the Lemon Chicken and I wound up ordering a second one before leaving. Go to Tilden Park and the rose garden too. Really wonderful city. Perhaps I will wind up there one day.

Morro Bay

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I love Morro Bay. I take pictures there all the time. Lately it’s been over-run with tourists but once school starts up again it will go back to the usual calm, soothing atmosphere. My grandparents own a place on the beach, and I can’t think of any better place to retire to. My favorite restaurants are The Flying Dutchmen (the Harvest Chicken Salad is the best thing on earth with it’s honey curry dressing) and Tognazzinni’s (amazing fish and chips, but it’s hard to go wrong with anything here), and also Giovanni’s fish market is a must. I’m obsessed with the garlic bread.

You’re not allowed to climb the rock anymore, but my dad used to do it all the time when he was younger. If only… If only…

Big Sur

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I’ve lived on the Central Coast for most of my life, so camping trips here were common as I grew up. I have the best memories of this place. As I got older I would have road trips with friends and we’d pretend we were scavenger hippies traveling up the coast. It’s really an amazing drive. I love Nepenthe too. I always stop just to get some spiced apple cider.

Las Vegas

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I’m not 21 so I haven’t gone gambling or drinking there, but it’s still so much fun. SHOPPING is insane, that includes the prices. Other than that the shows are always amazing. I went to see Cirque de Solei the first time I went there. I can’t wait to see the Beatles one now. The last time I went I saw Roseanne Barr perform. Definitely take your time while you’re there and go to each and every hotel to check out the sites. It’s worth it. And go on the rides too! Same with the food. You really can’t go wrong in Vegas.

Grand Canyon National Park

Worth visiting!

I stopped at the south rim on my way to Illinois from Cali, and it was definitely a highlight of the trip. Breathtaking. I definitely would’ve wanted to stop by the glass lookout at one of the reservations, but we didn’t have enough time. Also, next time I am definitely going to go on the water rapids journey. We saw the imax movie of all the different sites and the history of it and that was fun too.

Kaua`i

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I’ve been there 3 times. It’s absolutely magical. The first time I went there I was 14 years old and we were staying in these quaint hut looking rooms. I remember waking up to rain, but it wasn’t cold or windy, it was moist. And I ran around the whole plantation. I came back soaking wet and renewed.

Hawai'i

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

This island is amazing. I’m so tempted to move there, grow a garden, fish for food, and have little island babies. For sure… I remember first and only time I went there we picked up this hippie dude that smoked us out. What an adventure.

Sedona

Not worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

We just drove through on our mid-Country road trip, but it was gorgeous. It’s true what they say, it is magically relaxing. I would love to go back again.
