I was in Chinatown, my friend/tour guide took me to this store. She asked if I had heard of it, before, and I said no. Then, when I finally went there, I remembered my graphic design teacher telling me about it, because he did a proposal for a new corporate identity for this company.

I bought some supplies to draw a portrait of my friend. It wasn’t used to stores being more than 2 stories. I found the prices to be very reasonable, plus they offered student discounts.

I stayed her for a week during my trip to New York City. You need a passport to stay here. It’s an international hostel, you get to meet people from around the world. You have the option of staying in a room with six people for $28/night, or a private room for $32/night.

My sister and I bunked with 6 people, and it was a nice experience. Everyone was gone all day, and the only time we would see each other was at night. Also, our stays overlapped, and we were constantly getting new roommates. I had roommates from Finland, the Netherlands, France, Korea, Ireland, and Brazil. The dorms aren’t co-ed, the sexes aren’t segregated to a specific floor. Also, there’s only one bathroom on the floor, so everyone has to share. However, it’s cleaned regularly, so I didn’t encounter anything horrifically gross while I was there. There’s a community kitchen, dining area, and internet access.

The hostel was located in a nice part of down, directly across the street from a police precinct. There were also security guards that monitored the grounds, and security cameras, so it’s really safe.

I was here yesterday. It was an awesome experience. There were lots of little shops. We went to this store called Pearl River, and I bought a purse shapped like a take-out box, but made out of brocade fabric. I saw one in Mobile, but wasn’t able to get it then, and it’s been over a year, and I finally found one in this store.

We ate dinner at a place called Buffe´Xpress. You could get five items for $4. I had some fried rice, green beans, sesame chicken, a pork meatball, and fried tofu (didn’t like it). All the rest of the food was pretty good.

It was today. Or yesterday rather (Sunday). I finally got to see the condition of the pier. It’s nowhere near being completely reconstructed, but they’re working on it. I visited the park near the pier, and took lots of picture of the ducks and seagulls flying.

There were a lot of people on the beach, since the whether was ideal for it. I was with my grandmother, taking her on an outing, since she can’t drive herself anymore.

I went here opening night of the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival. It’s a really nice, historic theater. There’s one like it in my hometown, Mobile, called the Seanger Theater.

I got to screen the movie Americano, directed Kevin Noland, and starring Joshua Jackson. It’s was a cool experience.

This place is basically a park. There are lots of trails that go into a wooded area, and it’s quite a fun hike, in my opinion. there is also a goldfish pond and herb garden, and the place is quite lovely when the flowers are in bloom. There’s also a rental hall that can be used for parties and wedding receptions. The first time I went to the Botanical Gardens was to attend a Bar Mitzvah Luau party.

Fairhope is a beautiful bayside town. It’s known as an artist’s haven, and every year an arts & crafts festival is held downtown. There are lots of little shops and galleries, and the town is quite picturesque. The pier is nice, but it was destroyed in the last 2 hurricanes, and I don’t know if it’s been rebuilt yet.

The first time I visited was to attend the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. I was in eighth grade and we saw the play McBeth. It was awesome. The production was very professional, and every opportunity I’ve had since then I make an effort to go to the festival. I’ve been three more times since then, and I’ve seen “Blues Over an Alabama Sky”, “A Lesson Before Dying”, and “Othello.”

The first and only time I visited Arizona, I was about eight years old. My family took a road trip there. We visited the Grand Canyon, and it was awesome. We also visited the ruins of some Native American cliff dwellings. That was really cool. My dad took lots of pictures. I’ve included my favorite one.

I’d like to go there again so I can take pictures of my own. But that won’t be anytime in the near near future.

I’m from Mobile, and it’s a pretty nice town. It’s near a lot of places, and has a lot of conveniences of city life without being too metropolitan. City officials have really been trying to build up the downtown area the last several years. It’s coming along.
