It can get dangerous at night and even at daytime. Watch out for pick-pockets. At night, make sure that you’re not walking alone. But it is absolutely worth visiting! Check out the Mercat de Sant Josep/La Boqueria:

For some reason, Friedrichshain is extremely over-hyped. If you’re planning to go to the (in)famous Simon-Dach-Strasse, just don’t. It is just a bunch of very bad Bars, closing before midnight. If you wanna have more fun, go to Berlin Kreuzberg or Berlin Mitte.

I prefer Venice or Santa Monica.
The beach is full of oil from the oil field and I don’t feel like starring at the camouflaged drilling island all the time while hanging out at the beach.
