born and raised

I was born and raised in the area and I find it hard to even think about leaving the laid back people and lush green parks.

There’s a whole lot to do in Albany if you only keep your eyes and ears open. There are a number of local festivals and celebrations in spring, great jazz and celtic music venues, some beautiful art exhibits downtown, theater at Proctors in Schenectady (only 20 minutes away) and at the Egg downtown, along with Saratoga’s horse racing, and racino only 20 minutes away as well.

When I was younger I felt there was nothing to do here, but I didn’t have a car and didn’t pay attention to local radio and websites. Do a little footwork before visiting, it’ll make it more than worth your while.

A lot of beautiful places

There are a lot of lovely little places to shop, mind-numbingly lovely state parks with slate waterfalls and ice cold creeks littered with wildflowers, and a relaxed attitude among the people. You won’t catch a lot of pompous windbags up here.
