It’s absolutely gorgeous here….the most fun thing for me was…we would drive until it was dark and have no idea where we were and then when I would wake up in the morning and look outside, utter AMAZMENT!!!! Like I said, it’s gorgeous here and the people are so very nice and honestly friendly, I’ve been lots of places and I would say some of the nicest strangers I’ve ever encountered are in Utah!!

...no, really, they are chilly…it’s about 47 degrees down there year round. so, even though we went during a warm summer day, we had to bundle up, it was so much fun! and what a great way to cool off.
here’s the best thing though, i am adventurous, yes, but, i am also a leisure queen. well, we lived in downtown portland and i had a friend in from charlotte, nc and we had a nice lunch in the city and then we drove up to the lava caves (ape cave) it was a gorgeous drive and we did the caves and hopped back in the car, went back to portland and went out for dinner and lots of drinks…what a perfect day.

everyone is right about the sky being bigger here. i really want to check out more texas food!

what a pretty pretty serene place…except for when we flipped and sunk a boat, oops.

all i could think as i drove through this state is…whew, we made it out of california. i am enamoured with the wind farms here! and the sunsets are breathtaking.

...years ago i flew out to arizona from atlanta by myself for a new year’s rave out in a canyon in the middle of the desert. that was fun. and like i said a long time ago. it was for new year’s 1999 and it was a full moon. fun.

i love these rocks and took this pic as we were driving through the state on a cross country drive….i put this as my wallpaper on my ‘puter and only then did i notice that one of the rocks has been made into a face…that made me really like the picture even more. ...the more i look at it the more rocks look like faces or profiles. new mexico has great light, amazing energy and a good feel to it. i can’t wait to go back and spend time there…maybe i’ll live there one day.

this was my view from the living room in nw portland. i miss is so…look how creamy and dreamy that volcano is…i would watch almost every sunrise and sunset and when there was lots of snow of her the sunlight would hit it and light it up the most delicious beautiful colours!

took a lovely ride through the woods along the coast today.
