I lived here for about 4 years while I was in elementary – high school. It’s a very nice place, right next to the lake.

The station borders on being ‘very strange’ and ‘very cool’. I’m leaning towards cool, but going to this station is essential if you want to go anywhere in Kyoto.

It has an awesome name and it has some of the oldest and most interesting places to visit in Japan. You have to go!

I went here twice in two days because it was so amazing!

Don’t take a lot of money, you will spend it all.

Because around the bridge is some of the most amazing shopping ever!

This is a popular tourist attraction for foreigners as well as Japanese people. On my way in, I was so amazed by the beauty of the outside, but was a little disappointed that sakura hadn’t bloomed yet. But then I turned a corner and found an amazing viwe of sakura and the castle. It was absolutely gorgeous! It’s pretty inexpensive and the exhibits inside were pretty amazing as well. I was a little disappointed that the inside was not as preserved as the outside, but I understand that to keep it in it’s original form would be dangerous. Overall, if you’re in Osaka or Kyoto… go see this castle. Maybe just the outside will be good enough.

Osaka is a really interesting place. I stayed in possibly the worst neighborhood for a day and walked around through parts of Osaka the rest of the day. It has many interesting things to do, and I saw a lot of interesting people and things. If you’re in Japan, go to Osaka.

It’s pretty cool being so close to Kiyomizu temple. I would say, take a bus and walk to Kiyomizu until around 5 and then walk through Gion.
