The prettyest girl showed up last at the party
i got to go here for work a few weeks ago; best business trip ever! i only got one full day to see the island (Big Island), which wasn’t nearly enough, but it was entirely worth it. akaka falls, the botanical garden, waipi’o valley, and most especially volcanoes national park. i kept walking around wondering “why don’t i live here?”. there are, of course, decent answers to that question – remoteness and cost of living being the big two – but it sure is tempting. in terms of the natural beauty of the place, it’s the most beautiful place i’ve been.
also, there’s something psychologically jarring about walking around on land that’s younger than you are.
anyway, you should go. i can’t recommend it highly enough.
