Walt Disney World, Lake Buena Vista

Cool for kids by anodien

I don’t thing I would enjoy it now that I’m 18-at all-but I went there twice as a child; at ages 7 and 12. Both times it was REALLY fun, we went to nearly every park, even a water one (Typhoon Lagoon). I totally love it. I do remember that prices were ridiculous, and, eventhough it was September, everything was really hot and humid (but that’s fun sometimes).

For a family with young kids it’s a good trip, I have great memories of Disneyworld.

Alabama, United States

Exchange by anodien

I went during January-February this year, in an exchange program. I lived in Montgomery, but we travelled around…I went to Birmingham University, to south AL, to a Lake (damn, I forgot its name, I thing it was Lake Martin? O_o) to Florida and Georgia. Though it was winter, I thought everything was beautiful, really different from other parts of the States I’d go to. I wish I could go back during springtime.

Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile

Untitled by anodien

Despite the general thought of Santiago as a dirty, horrible, polluted and boring city, which is true sometimes, I love to live here. I really do, and believe me, I have live in better places.

Santiago worth it, specially to visitors I think. I know that Americans are always amazed of the mountains sorrounding the city, and I can’t believe how locals aren’t! I mean look at the Cordillera in winter, full of snow, and in summer, with all the shades of colors it has…and it’s only one part of the good things the city has. Downtown is great. El Parque Forestal is nice, cool and always full of things to do; Lastarria street is incredible, as well the Palacio de la Moneda, specially with the new gallery beneath it. Even the “folk” places like La Vega or Patronato or Paseo Ahumada are fun. Santiago is improving every year; new and exciting cultural things are developing, is getting cleaner, nicer…I recommend it, I really do.

Where I would go? Downtown, first (Cerro Santa Lucia and all those places). If is winter, to the skiing centers. Summer, to the hills sorrounding the city, or to the Cajon del Maipo, Maipo river is beautiful. To the museums, some are not very known but great (like the Militar Museum). To Mercado Central (good food). Some places in the “rich” part are cool too, Vitacura is nice. Just…wander around, it worth it!

Of course, Chile it self is not Santiago, go south :P

Valparaiso, Chile

Untitled by anodien

I’m chilean. Last year I signed to an exchange program in my school, and I had an Alabama girl in my home for two months. We went during winter vacations to Maitencillo, and for a day we did a trip to Valparaiso, cause is really close to Maitencillo. So my mom, Susan and I went to Valparaiso during this really warm day…We went to Cerro Alegre, bought some clothes, saw several art galleries, and the best thing, some people doing art theatre and a wandering spanish music band, and then we ate in this really hip cafe. I had been in the city a lot of times, but this time was really special and nice. I recommend it 200%, is just…incredible, beautiful, lots of cultural stuff to do and see, the bay is amazing. You can’t really recommend where to go, the best thing is to take some time and wander around the Cerros, talk to people, enter the art galleries, eat and relax.
OMG, I wish I could live there.

Pucón, Chile

Untitled by anodien

I go there every summer, and I love it. Though is always crowed during the summer months (January-February), there’s always something to do, like hikingm row etc, and the landscapes are so beautiful. The volcano is awesome too, and you can eat pretty good, though during summer is kind of expensive.

Absolutly awesome. I want to go back every year…I loved how the city seemed so “alive”, Central Park is so nice, buildings are incredible, everything is so cool! Even people in the street are. And is so different to other places in the USA (I usually don’t like the country..)

Chile, South America

I love Chile. I don’t want to live anywhere else, maybe visit Italy and live sometime there, but Chile is just perfect to me.

First of all, the country is not too developed, but we’re improving every year, and is getting better to live in here. Santiago is still kind of grey and the air polluted, but traffic is good, the city is getting nicer, and more cultural things make it more interesting and fun. Adn yeah, the mountains view is beautiful (I’ve live here all my life and it seems pretty normal to me…but foreigners seem to love the landscape!) and skiing near here is good. Anyways, Santiago is not the most interesting place to be as a tourist in Chile…

Our culture is amazing, maybe we’re not as loud as centro-americans, or as colorful as brazilians, but is incredible anyways, specially in the countryside. People are nice too.

The countryside, specially the south, is breathtaking. I love the 10th region (Region de los Lagos). Even the more crowed, turistic cities, like Pucon, are amazing, and the views are gorgeous. Chiloe is incredible, the Patagonia, Valdivia, and all the lakes too, specially the Ranco…The north is crazy too, I mean the Atacama desert is great, the Valle de la Luna is so cool, and Arica’s beaches are my favourites in the world, not even Yucatan’s are better.

As a chilean, and a tourist, I highly recommend Chile. I haven’t been everywhere (Easter Island..) but wherever I’ve been, it has been awesome. =)
