i’m on the fence as to whether or not going to seattle is worth it. the market down by the waterfront was neat, but otherwise i found it dreary and unremarkable. still, i suspect i must have missed the good part, or something. so i maintain that it might be worth it. a bunch of people live there, and it can’t only be because of their great jobs, or their families.

once, when i was there at the age of 19, i ordered wine with my dinner while out with friends, forgetting the drinking age in the united states. when i was carded, and then stared at like i was a lunatic for presenting a driver’s license that actually stated i was under age, i squeaked, apologized and explained myself. they gave me the glass of wine anyway, which i thought very sporting of them. so, that was a good experience in seattle. and, like i said, pike place market.

i was raised mostly in toronto. despite the bad rap that the city gets in the rest of canada, it’s pretty great.
