Just Us! Fair Trade Shop And Coffee Bar, Halifax

Remodelled!

I went in today for the first time after last month’s remodel (they were closed for a few weeks). Furnishings look more uniform and expensive. I’m ambivalent about the change: it’s less visually casual and quirky, but the tables are bigger (hold my laptop & a coffee more easily) and there is now a windowbooth.

Halifax Alehouse, Downtown

Untitled

Quaint wooden interior, huge upstairs that seems to go through to the next building. I’ve been advised that it’s a very different place on weekend nights, since it tries to be a dance club then.

Stepho's Souvlaki Greek Taverna, Davie Street

Why is there always a line-up?

I finally went here once, and I still don’t know why there’s always a line-up outside at all hours. I can’t remember what I ordered (you wouldn’t think “macaroni and cheese” would be on a Greek menu), but it was basically a solid block of extremely greasy cheese-noodle. Fairly disgusting, and I could’ve been very slightly less disgusted with the Fresgo (which is nextdoor), for about the same price and large quantity.
