Eugene, Oregon

Scary Man in a Quaint Town

Me & my younger brother needed a project to kill an off day so we headed to Eugene to check out a Tat Convention my tat artist was being featured at. On the way through the downtown we were stopped at a stop light. The street was pretty desolate. I commented to my brother about woman pushing her baby in a stroller, her baby was adorable! Then I noticed a guy coming around the corner of the street light we were at. He skulked acrossed the street and had a malicious look in his eye. He had a very punk or skinhead look which under normal circumstances I wouldn’t give a second thought to because I have a fairly unconventional look myself. There was something just off about this guy so I was worried for the woman. I turned to see where she had gone then I heard a loud thud on the windshield. I turned to see the guy threw himself at as. He gave the windshield one last good swing then strutted away. The woman was gone and I was in shock over the guys actions. We tried to make light of it but upon further research I have found that there are some pretty well established sects of skinheads. Now I’ve traveled hi and low solo and with companions. Growing up a half white/half Mexican American in a predominantly black & mexican neighborhood I hate hate hate it when people play the race card. I’ve had people tell me "don’t move here or there because there because they’re racist " only to move to such and such place and not have one problem, but I can honestly say this was a pretty troubling experience. Hopefully it was a one off and nobody else has to deal with this here regularly but just wanted to share just is case.

Little A'Le'Inn, Rachel

In the middle of nowehere

My pops & I had already driven through NV all the way down to Roswell, NM. He asked one of the shop keepers in NM where the Lil Aleinn was who regrettably informed us that it was all the way back up by Vegas. So naturally we did what any paranormal enthusiast would do, drive all the way back up there. It was a really cool drive along the Extraterrestrial Hiway, way out in the middle of nowhere. I remember there being a sign warning that there wouldn’t be any gas stations for like the next 100 miles of something like that. It was a long lonely road with sparse patched of cacti and cow lining the mountainous backdrop. It got a little creepy once the Hills Have Eyes crept its way into my mind.It didn’t help that we were having a hard time locating Rachel NV on our GPS & Map. When we did finally make it to Rachel NV it was very obvious. It was a tiny cluster of mobile homes with the lil Aleinn welcoming us just off the main road. If you’re into glitz and g lammer this isnt the stop for you but if you enjoy scenic drives and kitschy stuff this should be right up your alley.

After having driving between Nashville & Michigan several times I finally decided to do a walk through of Louisville. It’s pretty cool!
