I really love this place. It is probably my favorite shrine in Japan (at least thus far). I’ve visited each time I’ve been in Japan. Yes, take the time to walk the trail. I believe it is about 4 km. You can stop for a beverage or food along the way.

I agree with everyone’s comments below. I’ve been to Coba, Tulum, Chichen Itza, Ek’Balam, Labna, Kabah, Sayil, and Xunantunich (in Belize). Uxmal is my favorite by far. Chichen Itza has such beautifully restored structures and Tulum such a great setting but both places are so crowded and closed off now. Uxmal is beautiful with the different layers. And, at least for now, you can climb many structures and touch the stones. It was so much more than I had imagined! Also, the night show is much, much better than the one at Chichen Itza. I recommend the Uxmal show.

Warm, friendly, safe-feeling city. Lots of hustle and bustle. Crowded market places. Quiet courtyards and plazas. Interesting history. Many old colonial building and churches. We really liked it. Go visit!

Get up close and personal with bison! Nice view of and access to the Great Salt Lake. Hike and picnic friendly. Very surreal place – like the ocean with no waves. Beautiful mountains surround.

We love this place. It isn’t for everyone. There are no phones, no TV, no pool – just books, ocean views, fireplaces, hot spiced wine and a couple of cats. It is funky, cozy, and relaxing. So much charm, in my opinion.

Oh, how we loved it! What a wonderful place. What nice people and relaxed feeling. I can’t wait to return someday.

Such a charming town! A true gem. Don’t miss Fort Worden while you’re there. Interesting relic in a beautiful location.

One of the three most beautiful places in Japan, they say. Watch out for those pesky deer, they’ll run off with your momiji-manju if you don’t watch out!

Very Unique Zoo. See it if you can.
