Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, Kyoto

It is lovely!

I really love this place. It is probably my favorite shrine in Japan (at least thus far). I’ve visited each time I’ve been in Japan. Yes, take the time to walk the trail. I believe it is about 4 km. You can stop for a beverage or food along the way. over 3 years ago

Uxmal, Yucatán (State)

The best one so far.

I agree with everyone’s comments below. I’ve been to Coba, Tulum, Chichen Itza, Ek’Balam, Labna, Kabah, Sayil, and Xunantunich (in Belize). Uxmal is my favorite by far. Chichen Itza has such beautifully restored structures and Tulum such a great setting but both places are so crowded and closed off now. Uxmal is beautiful with the different layers. And, at least for now, you can climb many structures and touch the stones. It was so much more than I had imagined! Also, the night show is much, much better than the one at Chichen Itza. I recommend the Uxmal show.

Warm, friendly, safe-feeling city. Lots of hustle and bustle. Crowded market places. Quiet courtyards and plazas. Interesting history. Many old colonial building and churches. We really liked it. Go visit!
