Route 66

Worth visiting!

I have done about 80 miles starting in Oklahoma City and headed west. I had a King and Onion rings at Sids in El Reno about 10 miles west of OKC. If you are thirsty try the chocolate milkshake they will build one for you right there on the counter. Friendly folk and a real treat to eat. The only road in America that I can drive 55 and maybe even a little slower… Get your kicks, oh yeah!! on route 66…

Fort Worth Water Gardens

A pool of serenity in the midst of the hustle and din of a major downtown area. When my children were young it was a favorite place to go (for free!!) for a walk and an adventure. It was closed for a couple of years but has recently reopened and is a must visit for any weary traveler in need of a breather and a sit down in cow town! Peace.

Worth visiting!

home of the original big mac

I was a young child when my father was stationed at Kinchloe A.F.B. I can remember the huge bridge attaching the south to the north. The snow was incredibly high, we used to dig tunnels through the huge drifts. Everything was very beautiful. I caught my first fish there and would love to return for a visit.
