Thurmont, Maryland

Untitled

While I’m sure the Thurmont area is nice for camping, my experience with the town has been pretty bad. I went to college nearby and also worked in Thurmont for a year. There’s nothing to do there and the town – or rather, some residents of the town – is also notorious for their friendly relationship with the KKK. My experience with Thurmont hasn’t been good. But I’m sure camping in the Catocin Mountains is amazing.

Fell's Point, Baltimore

Untitled

Everyone focuses so much on the bars and nightlife in Fells Point, but I’ve enjoyed Fells Point without it. There are cute secondhand and antique shops and other stores you won’t see anywhere else! Not to mention there’s a growing Hispanic community just down the street. Just walk down to Broadway and you’ll find authentic Salvadoran or Mexican food and Latin American grocery stores.

Go on Fridays after 5pm and get in for $5. Great deal compared to their normal prices…..
