A review of this place: the closest city to (old) home

There are some nice parts, and it’s been cleaned up, but for a trip to the island it’s easily skipped. The surrounding areas are greener and nicer. I wish they would get some more interesting resturants too.

A review of this place: Better than Banff

I agree with the other entries, it’s less touristy, more wild, and verrry beautiful. We’ll go back time and again.

A review of this place: snowing cherry blossoms

BC is a beautiful province, and Vancouver can be stunning at times. Was there once to see the cherry blossoms fall, pretty spectacular. Stanley Park was very cool, the beaches are nice, and the forests enormous.

A tip I have about this place

Nice. We were there in the dry season, so it was very hot and VERY sunny. I strongly suggest wearing long pants/a skirt to the kness, at least short sleeves if not long, and spf 50 sunscreen. I didn’t get burnt, but saw a lot of people who were. And a lot of people with terribly sun damaged skin – like leather. Honestly, I experimented, and light long pants/skirt (not jeans!) and sleeves is way cooler than shorts and a tank top. I still got a little tan from the beaches, but no burn from everyday walking.

Was proposed to here, on the black cliff by the beach at sunrise. I said yes.

Underwater sounds!

The most real experience in Australia: hearing the parrot fish chew the coral. We were snorkeling, on the first dip I heard a cracking sound, the second I saw that it was the fish! We saw lots of other fish, invertabrates, and plants, but that was an amazing experience. Listen for it if you go!

A review of this place: On the Rocks

We stayed in the Rocks district in the winter off-season. It was a little cheaper, and still very beautiful. Most of the time was spent on the water front, at the botanical gardens, the opera house, at the sunday markets, the aquarium, etc. The resturants were nice if a little expensive- as all major cosmopoliton cities tend to be. We had great weather, and it was a perfect introduction to Australia for us.
