ummmm, i got sent out ther eto work for 6 months wandering along goat tracks through the taurus mountains, with a group of english speakers who were relying on me to get them to the next destination.
i hiked from kas to semsi, semsi to sutlegen, sutlegen to camilkoy, camilkoy to arsakoy , climbed akdag mountain the next day (if i was feeling energetic!) then we hiked back down to civilisation towards oludeniz then over to fethiye …..
oludeniz is AWFUL, its full of tourist crap and it is shit (although their is a sandy beach which is rare along turkeys rocky coast line)
theres another sandy beach at dalyan – otherwise known as ‘turtle beach’ its where you can see loggerhead turtles hatch and blah blah blah – some crazy rock tombs and more ruins, another ampitheatre and some more tombs.
unless you are a tomb addict or LOVE ampitheatres, after you have sene a couple youll be looking for something else to do!
i loved KAS – its my favourite part of turkey…
i didnt get to go to cappadocia (which is highly recomended)
pummakale is nice but apparently over rated (good to take a foto of though!)
the locals are sweet
the majority of men are sleezy
then history if full on
sakilikent gorge is good fun – get a guide and climb on him so you can go all the way to the end – most toursits sont get too far – you can walk for a couple of hours in the peak of summer when the water level is low)
have a mudbath – why not?!
eat GOZLEME!
take a gulet down the coast and get out onto the crystal clear waters of the med …..
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…............. worth a visit for sure!
