Argyll & Bute

Why I want to go to this place

The globe truly is flat and wide.
I find new places for my heart almost every time i travel through the lives of travellers here.
I find new places, and rip out summers, springs from my future,
for happiness of being in that lonely place on a photo, on that bridge, by that lake, under those clouds.
Recently, i have understood once more how rich is life when there are many different clouds inside of it.
Many bridges, many lakes.
Finding this place was like one of those graceful explosions,
i am now more firm that i need to edit more books to have more money for shoes, a new suitcase and a plane ticket.

Plitvice Lakes National Park

(in Croatia)
Why I want to go to this place

I have been interested in lake districts for a longer while.
Water is an enigma, its form, its color, its movement.
I would love to see Bled, very much.
And Plitvice, very, very much.
Sixteen lakes, waterfalls, trails.
Water falling, flowing.
Sometimes, when it rains here, in north, behind my windows,
it feels as if there would be a silent river in the clouds,
with a gentle waterfall.
I have never been surrounded by water in such majestic forms
as in Plitvice, though.
I hope i can find some little hungry ducks to feed there.

Why I want to go to this place

Tulips are a definition of grace for me.
This is the home of tulips.
This is the home of grace.

Nyhavn

Worth visiting!

Why I want to go to this place

I have been in Nyhavn.
The magic of colors, boats and people.
Hans Christian Andersens house.
Sitting by the water.
In the springtime, when there is yellow sun,
and wind.
You feel that strange amount of happiness
that you experience when you meet something
that is yours.

Okinawa

Why I want to go to this place

Okinawa. I suppose among many things we remember from our childhood are the names of different places. I remember Okinawa. It made me smile to see it here, on 43places. It made me glad to see it on my tiny list of dream-travels.

Western Sahara

(in Africa)
Why I want to go to this place

Watching the stars, little aliens, on that side of a planet. Dreamy, quiet, again probably a sentimental wish.
Deserts have that very unique, ethereal aura for those who live in temperate zones of earth.
To imagine so much sand, every litte grain of sand being wondrous, extraordinary – this alone makes you very still inside.

Nazca

(in Peru)
Why I want to go to this place

I have had a strong, clear wish to visit all eldest, holy places on earth, the cradles of civilisation. Mesopotamia would be the starting point of that journey.

Deserts, especially deserts with messages so powerful feel incredibly holy and ancient. Therefore, the Nazca Lines in the Pampa region of Peru, these timeless figures, geometric lines are something that i would be truly honored to see.

Bahia

(in Brazil)
Why I want to go to this place

If i would make a list of the vivid, sparkling, heartfelt places to visit, i would start with Bahia.
I have never been there – not even in my dreams – so to me it is close to a life-sized amphora of possibilities.
I will definitely be reading the notes of all vagabonds about this place, while i can write them myself, in my crumpled travelling diary.

Pokhara

(in Nepal)
Why I want to go to this place

I know no mountains, yet i appreciate their simplicity.
I chose Pokhara in Nepal since i understand that this place must
be one of the doors to graceful solitude, – and to heartwarming sunshines.
I would like to take longs walks, hike and talk to locals.
Bhutan, tucked away in Himalayas, would be my next road to take.

Amalfi

Why I want to go to this place

As i became aware of this place, i instantly felt harmony – or, how harmony is connecting all the dots in the Universe. This is the place for capturing the beauty, time, – felicity.
I would love to be there.
I would love to be there with those whom i love,
to be stunned by how good life can feel.

The bond to different gems under the sun, different captivating places is resembling, yet different in nuances. I feel close to Amalfi thinking about Amalfi seen through the eyes of the travellers of past. The ones who found themselves in between Salerno and Sorrento, wrote a book, composed an opera, painted a painting, left a small marking from the day they went to St. Andrew`s cathedral, walked through bougainvillea`s, up the narrow stairs by a white house, drank limoncello from an icecold bottle. Those notes, they open Amalfi for me.
Cinque Terra feels somehow more familiar, probably because of the kaleidoscopic range of colors – or because i went to Cinque Terra – in my mind – earlier than i realised there was a similar graceful white town in Campania.
I pondered writing this if something in me would be different, if i would have been born elsewhere. By a blue sea, in a white house surrounded by pink flowers.
The distant calling, – yet, i still feel that i prefer to be a guest who can return, in the spring, to the white house surrounded by pink flowers.
Perhaps we do choose the home, for ourselves? -
a few homes, for our soul.
For the springs, for the autumns.
