Wife is from Winnipeg, which is a pretty good place.. lots of nice lakes and beaches, very similar to minnesota. BC and Alberta are amazing, as is Yukon, etc. Probably going to retire in BC somewhere.

Grew up all over Alaska, jr hi and high school in Palmer. Nice in the summer, home of the big veggies you hear about, and the State Fair… maybe Cheap Trick will headline again this year!

Flew Iceland air from London to New York, and they offered a free three day stopover. Surreal landscape, relaxing hotsprings, sulfur in the air… worth checking out.

We only did the North island.. much to the surprise of the locals.. have to get back for the south. North island was great, lots of cool beaches, rolling hills and wine country.

Didn’t realize how big Australia was until arriving. Rented a car and drove from Sydney to Melbourne along the coast (amazing rock formations.. the apostles?..) then up to Ayres Rock (sunrise was awesome, the rock appears to change colors), then back to Sydney.. over 5,000 miles on the car in 7 days. Then spent three weeks leisurely going up the east coast. Divers, check out South West Rocks.. a small spot north of Sydney with a cool cave dive.

I’ll let more quailifed folks talk about Nepal.. I just went to Kathmandu for about a week around Christmas, amazing City. Drove to a place where we could see Everest, but that’s it. Would love to go back. The people are so poor but so kind and happy.. very different than parts of india

need months or years to truly see India.. was only there for 3 weeks. Did the “triangle” of New Dehli, Jaipur, Taj mahal, spent a week in GOA on the beach (be careful ordering beer, anytime we ordered beer at a restaurant, the food took hours to arrive… but the beer arrived quickly.. Want to get to the south and even into kashmir.. next time..

If you visit Sabah on Borneo, a visit to this Orangutan rehabilitation center is a must. We also stayed at Uncle Tan’s Jungle camp.. a backpackers place to a definite jungle camp with no perks or electricity for that matter… lots of boar and monkeys around.. very cool

If you go to Borneo, and are close to Brunei, I guess it’s worth a trip.. not much to see other than the castle and the large completely free amusement park.. we went on an off day and the only stipulation for the rides were that you had to have 4 people, so we occasionally had to wait…

Malaysia is under-rated in my opinion… I’ve been up and down both coasts, and there are islands that rival, if not beat, the islands of thailand. The east coast is a little less traveled (maybe) but I think nicer than the west.
