World War II Memorial, The Mall

Untitled by adventureseeker48

I’ve been to DC multiple times but this is still one of my favorite memorials. I attended the groundbreaking ceremony when I was in middle school and saw it a week before the dedication. The architects did a good job in not really disturbing the mall.

Basilique Du Sacré-Coeur, Montmartre

Bastille Day at Sacre-Coeur by adventureseeker48

Sacre-Coeur is a beautiful church. Me and my friends actually watched the Bastille Day fireworks from the steps in front of the church it was amazing. The crypt is probably one of the coolest I’ve seen. The winding stairs to to the lookout are very narrow and the ceiling is really low but the view from the top is amazing.

Cathédrale Notre Dame De Paris, Ile De La Cité

Untitled by adventureseeker48

Notre Dame is definately worth seeing however, it is flooded with tourists. The cathedral is pretty dark and not one of my favorites. However, the history surrounding the church is enough to make your trip there worth while.

Basilica di San Marco, Piazza San Marco

Untitled by adventureseeker48

The basilica is gorgeous, but make sure to go in the morning because sometimes the piazza floods in the afternoon making the church in-accessable. The piazza is also full of tourists. The inside of the basilica is completely mosaic. It’s definately worth the few extra euros to go to the lookout and see the museum.

Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City

Royals baseball games are always fun as long as you don’t expect to see them win at home. I went to the Royals/Cardinals game last year and there was more red then blue in the stands.

I studied at the University of Rouen this summer for 3 weeks. Rouen has alot of history and art. Monet’s Cathedral is awesome and in the summer they show his paintings on it at night.

Pay the 3 extra euros to pre-order your tickets, it’s worth not waiting in line for hours.

Mont Saint Michel, Basse Normandie

This was my favorite place in France by adventureseeker48

I was studying abroad in Rouen, France and we decided to take a road trip to Mont Saint Michel. After about 2.5 hours of driving we finally reached the Mont. It just appears in the distance. We arrived just before 7:00 at night when the night tour begins. For the night tours they have lighting effects and music. There was a cello and harpsicord player. The size of the abbey only makes it that much more impressive. After seeing the entire abby we walked out on the sand flats and watched the sunset and then waited for the lights to come on.
