After having spent almost five full days in Ottawa, I can definitely recommend visiting. It’s really a different type of city. Not quite as fast/crazy as Toronto and Montreal, but not quite as traditional as Quebec City.
The culture and history in Ottawa is incredible. You’ll never feel more Canadian while skating on the Rideau with Parliament in view.
Just about everything is within walking distance if you stay downtown, but it can get cold in the winter, like VERY cold. So unless you’re planning on visiting during Winterlude, I’d recommend this as a summer trip.
